Careers in education
Our children need to see you at the front of the class.

Fewer than 2 of every 100 public school teachers in America are Black men. To us, that is not just a statistic. It is a classroom without a mirror. It is a hallway without a mentor. It is a school without the voice that could have changed a boy's direction.
The research is clear. When Black students have a Black teacher, they are more likely to finish high school and more likely to go to college. For low-income Black boys, one Black teacher in elementary school lowers the risk of dropping out by 39 percent. Black male educators do not only teach content. They model possibility.
That is why NABME exists: to dramatically increase the number of highly effective Black and Brown male teachers and leaders, and to make sure that every man who answers the call is known, loved, and pushed to be great.
If you are considering education, we want you in the work. If you are already in the work, we want you to stay, to grow and to lead. There is a place for you here.
